Description
Travelling in a northerly direction you will pass the town of Sami, famous from the Hollywood movie, “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” and you will arrive to the subterranean Lake of Melissani. Enjoy a boat ride across the mystical underground lake, where sunlight entering the caves turns the water bold blue and scatters rays of light around the whole interior. The headwater is in Argostoli, and it enters the cave by travelling underground across the island and through holes from the western coastline. Leaving Melissani and driving through the picturesque harbour of Ag. Efimia you will arrive at the magnificent Myrtos Beach , where you will enjoy a swimming stop for approx. 2 hours . Myrtos is often lauded as one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece with its mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles that cuts deep into a sheer cliff on the island’s northwest coast. The lush green area, the abrupt terrain, the white pebbles and the crystal waters compose a stunning scenery.
